INSTALLATION: 08/15 — The Daily Lives of Death

The performance art installation “08/15 — The Daily Lives of Death” by Sarah Elena Schwerzmann explores the discrepancy between death as a taboo subject and as a means of entertainment in a humorous and touching way.

It shows a documentary short film portraying three people who are inevitably confronted with death on a daily basis. They all work in professions that hold a substantial presence in television programs; such as crime scene investigators, forensic pathologists and crime scene cleaners. The short film is played in a wooden booth and is randomly compiled by an algorithm. All in all, 25 997 760 versions of the film exist. Each one is therefore unique and personal — much like life itself. The artist will be present during the exhibition at MIRAGE and will be interacting with the audience.
