STUMFILM
(a play in three acts)
STUMFILM is a performance or a fantasy. A dream of what might have been and what might have become. A place where the grief of losing grows together with the grief of a world falling apart.
STUMFILM is a basket roof between an image-saturated body of text and a fighting actor's body. Ine Marie Wilmann invokes, pleads, fights and is beaten to the ground, when she takes us on a journey through a noisy flicker of memories and impressions - like zapping through TV channels. Caught between nostalgia and utopia, she flees into alien bodies and images to escape the paralyzed image of herself. The beautiful and the monstrous grow together, as she devours what she longs for and what she fears most with equal voraciousness. And chews up the difference.
STUMFILM is a performance about human loss and world loss, where we retreat to the innermost room only to discover that the world bleeds in everywhere.
