Now 93 year old legendary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman gives us yet again a contemplating and fascinatingly detailed view on an institution. MENUS PLAISIRS is a film about the Troisgros family and their three restaurants: Troisgros, Le Central and La Colline, located in three neighboring locations in central France. Troisgros, a restaurant founded 93 years ago, has had three Michelin stars for 55 years and in 2020 was awarded a Michelin green star for exemplary sustainable practices. The present chef César Troisgros, is the fourth generation of the family to be in charge at Troisgros. The film shows the day-to-day operations involving the purchase, preparation and service at this restaurant, like only Wiseman can. Studying life as it unfolds. A testament to culture, to family, to food and to documentary filmmaking itself.
The film is presented in collaboration with Gutta på Haugen, the specialty store for flavorful food products, offering a wide range of locally and internationally sourced delicacies, as well as premium snacks for the cinema. Check out their closest shop at Mathallen, five minutes from Vega.
