Visually striking and dreamlike, After Dreaming takes us across Armenia with a soldier and a young girl. The country is neither at war nor at peace, and this uncertainty is present in every image. Mountains, faces, light and silence are filmed with great attention, while the road trip gradually shifts between reality and dream. The result is intimate, unsettling and full of unexpected beauty.
Each year, MIRAGE selects one work as our Film of the Year—a film whose uncompromising vision shapes the festival’s visual identity. For 2026, the haunting visual world of After Dreaming will move through our posters, flyers, website, festival spaces and colour palette.
