Invisible Adversaries
Valerie Export, 1976
Convinced that alien forces are invading human bodies, an artist begins to see violence and estrangement everywhere around her. VALERIE EXPORT's feminist science-fiction classic transforms urban alienation, intimate conflict and patriarchal violence into a thrilling assault on perception. The screening is part of a larger program in tribute to VALERIE EXPORT (1940–2026).
The Sealed Soil
Marva Nabili, 1977
Beautiful and hypnotic. The oldest surviving Iranian film directed by a woman. The Sealed Soilfollows a young woman's quiet rebellion against marriage, and can be read as a metaphor for Iran's transition from tradition to modernity. Marva Nabili filmed in secret in a walled village in 1976 and smuggled the film out of Iran herself — it has never been shown there since.
Qatsi-trilogien
Godfrey Reggio, 1982–2002
Med trilogien Koyaanisqatsi (1982), Powaqqatsi (1988) og Naqoyqatsi (2002) skapte Godfrey Reggio og komponist Philip Glass et av filmhistoriens mest særegne og innflytelsesrike verk. The Night is Fading Away
Ramiro Sonzini, Ezequiel Salinas, 2025
A spectacularly beautiful love letter to the cinema — as a building, a refuge, and a social meeting place. At a communal cinema in Córdoba, Argentina, projectionist Pelu loses his job, secretly moves in, and opens its doors to others with nowhere else to be. Warm, melancholic and full of dry humor, the film follows a fragile nocturnal community threatened by the cinema's closure and the country's economic crisis.
