Støten gained significant recognition when Armand won the prestigious award for “sound creation” during its world premiere at Cannes. The award, known in French as the Prix de la meilleure création sonore, is presented by the organization La Semaine du Son, which emphasizes the importance of sound in film. The prize is awarded to the director of a film where sound plays a prominent role, recognising the entire sound team, including the composer. - Armand's score was composed by Ella van der Woude.
In their statement, the jury noted: “The jury unanimously awarded the prize for best sound design to Armand, directed by Norwegian filmmaker Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel. The film stood out particularly for the finesse and precision of its sound design. Every sound detail is meticulously crafted, creating an immersive and captivating experience.”
