John SKOOG graduated from Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. His films have been shown at numerous film festivals and art museums in Sweden and internationally, such as the Berlinale, Moderna Museet and Index Contemporary Art Foundation in Stockholm, Museum of the Moving Image & PS1 MOMA in New York, IDFA, London Film Festival, True/False, MuMoK in Vienna and the MMK in Frankfurt am Main. His documentary Säsong (Ridge) won CPH:DOX in 2019. Redoubt is his first feature film. John has been a professor of film at the Art Academy in Mainz since 2016.
