Dendelion, Baraban, Léonto and Taraxa are four tiny seeds from the same dandelion. When a nuclear catastrophe tears them away from Earth, they are hurled into the cosmos. To survive, they must cross hostile landscapes, encounter strange creatures and search for a place where life can begin again.
Without eyes, voices or faces, the four friends reveal distinct personalities through the smallest movements. Their journey becomes an adventure about friendship, resilience and the longing to belong, told entirely without dialogue and with humour, suspense and tenderness.
Momoko Seto combines animation with macro photography, time-lapse, slow motion and images of real plants and organisms. Mushrooms rise like monuments, moss becomes a forest and microscopic life expands into an entire universe. Moving freely between the infinitely small and the unimaginably vast, Dandelion’s Odyssey transforms nature from a backdrop into the film’s most spectacular performer.
